Applications now open for Apple Vision Pro developer kits

Apple is now offering developers the chance to get a Vision Pro developer kit.

Apple has today launched the application process for the Vision Pro developer kits, alongside lab bookings and compatibility lab registrations.

Developers can register interest in receiving a Vision Pro headset on loan from Apple, with those successful also receiving help getting setup with the device, frequent check-ins with ‘Apple experts’ for design and development guidance and two additional code-level support requests for troubleshooting.

In order to complete the application process, you’ll need to detail what app you plan to build, the frameworks you intend on using and provide more details about your skill sets.

In addition to the developer kits, Apple is also opening up registrations for the developer labs in Cupertino, London, Munich, Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo.

If you live near one of these locations, this is probably your best bet for getting hands-on time with the Vision Pro given developer kits are likely to be extremely limited and hard to come by.

For development teams, Apple will permit multiple people to attend a lab booking – they suggest one developer and one designer per lab. However both people will need to submit an application for a lab on the same day and location.

And if you’re unsuccessful with either the developer kit or the lab appointment, you can apply for a compatibility evaluation where Apple will download your app on TestFlight and provide you feedback. Applications for this process are now open as well.

In order to apply for any of the announced Vision Pro testing opportunities, you’ll need to be a current member of the Apple Developer Program in good standing.
